There are consumers who shop around and sometimes even buy impulsively. They see something great, or something they cannot live without, and grab it for their own. But, what about consumers of people?
There are basically two types of people in life—takers and givers. Come to think of it there are other odd couples like:
- Lazy and diligent
- Cheap and generous
- Friendly and unfriendly
- Sweet and sour
- Kind and mean
- Adventuresome and fearful
- Insightful and naive
- Wise and foolish
And many more now that I think about it. Consider the abbreviated list above and see where you fit. Are you trusting or cynical? Do you believe or are you doubtful? As you determine your own life’s true and false questions, the real test is how others view you. Sometimes, in our heart, we think we are one way but in reality we act another. Which is true? Will the true you please stand up?
Jekyll and Hyde were on the same page of life’s book but just at polar opposite ends of the spectrum. Recently I read that what this culture seeks is authenticity. Living as the “real deal” is genuine. Making course corrections based on your multiple choices listed above is worth considering if you find your life less than what it could be.
You have one life. How will you live it? Some choices may cause you to live alone, without anyone’s opinions and no one bothering you. However, you might need at least six good friends at the end of your life to help carry your coffin. Rented pallbearers that genuinely care that you are not here anymore are hard to find. They are busy down the block at some poor cynics passing.
Come on! Make the most of every moment as you intersect with mankind. I love the Proverbs that states, “He who is friendly will himself have friends.”
Give back today as you live life big.
When you choose to look past the horizon… the sky is the limit!
