It is a known statistic that 20% do 80% of the work in the church. I would guess it to be the same, or lower, in any organization or club, as well. Look around and see if someone is in need of your hand today. Momma, take the courage to lay the dishtowel down and sit with your children for some sweet fellowship. Mr. Husband, all your work will be there tomorrow. Go home and rejoice in the wife of your youth. Children, learn at the feet of your parents and grandparents. Their stories will amuse you while the lessons from life’s classroom will teach you. Pastor, study hard, not just for your sermon, but to know Him more intimately. Choir member, quit looking for the perfect song to sing and begin to sing from your heart about His goodness and love.
Use your hands to praise your Savior and to help someone who is burdened down with a load of work. Take the hand of another and pray with them. Place your hand of blessing upon the head of a discouraged friend. Use your hands to wipe away the tears of the brokenhearted while you lift another out of the dumps. Offer words of encouragement to someone who is overcoming depression. Willingly give a pat on the back with a hand of affirmation to someone who is facing a challenge. Wave on the runners in life who have lost view of the finish line. Clap your hands before the God of all creation and applaud His works.
Most importantly, don’t overlook His hand in your life. Let His hand intervene in your affairs. Look for His hand of provision as well as His blessing. Train yourself to thank Him for the times when you do see His hand of protection, provision and deliverance. Let go of the things which you are holding onto so tightly and exchange them for what He is holding out to you in His hands. May your hands work in behalf of His, motivated by the impulse of His love. May others who see your life declare, “YES! I see His hand upon your life.”
