Hey everyone,
Thank you again for supporting me and helping this new season in my life come true.
YWAM has been good, I mean, yes, I have my ups and downs on what I like today and what I don’t like, but the Lord is showing me so much, and I am hearing from Him. So, it has been good I have been pushed in the ways I don’t like, but only to make me stronger.
Last week my team went to IHOP (International House of Prayer) here In Germany. This week was a time we gave up our cell phones, iPods and computers. We also only ate fruits and veggies. And had a day where there was no talking; some of this I had a hard time with, I mean, I love my meat. I AM from Texas.
This week I finally got to understand why we fast. When we are in a room at night with all these big lights and the lights are the world, we turn those off so we can see the beautiful star lit night. We can stop and look at the beauty of God, and see what he has for us and hear from him.
This week we were told we should pray about where our outreach would be. We were given 3 places: Brazil, Africa and India. I had already prayed 3 weeks ago about going to Brazil and I was okay with that, so I just decided to pray again. When I was praying I saw a picture of me dancing in Brazil with a lot of people. Then in Africa with little kids and we all were laughing. And then in India, dancing with teens. I asked the Lord what it meant and where should I go, but I had no idea. I prayed and I heard the Lord say, “What is your heart’s desire?” I waited. “Well I really like Africa, God.” Then I just had this peace rest over me. Since I was a young girl I wanted to go help in Africa. Okay, so there it is–it’s Africa…Liberia.
So my outreach will be in Liberia with 5 other students. We leave in December for three months.
My days are so busy, yet I really love learning to just rest in God and hearing from Him. I am beginning to understand walking by faith and not by sight. One of my realizations I had was my calling to be a servant because Jesus came to serve and not to be served. When we put others first and serve them, we just need to have faith that the Lord will take care of us. It’s what the Lord has called all of us to do but I just now understand it. Well, just thought I would let you know what I was up to and how the Lord is moving.

*In Germany at the YWAM base I am called by my middle name, Ellison because there is another Lydia in the group. I have two close friends who are from Germany and so funny. My favorite meal is schnitzel. SO good!
