Once my husband, son, and I were attending a private dinner of 200, hosted by our Governor. A man approached my husband to ask, “Are you anyone of significance?” Tony answered, “Yes. My wife and children think I am.”
I am often told when I speak around the nation…”Hey! Remember me when you are famous.” To which I reply, “I already am and my memory is fine.”
Many live their lives with the desire to be famous. It is all relative. I could mention some who are very famous to me, and you may never have heard of them. The same with your list for me. Some, unfortunately, make the infamous list with their shenanigans and calculated mistakes. Whatever your position, you have a great chance to be famous to someone in your realm of influence.
Does it take the applause of others for you to recognize that you have value? Your differences make you unique and your gifts make a way for you in all arenas of life. Your self-worth is not based on the opinions of others but on the fact that your life has value. There is no one like you. In seizing your place on the stage of life you can live your role with depth and character, dressed for success, making an impact on your generation.
Being famous is not as challenging as making a difference. Famous brands have found a niche for serving others. Famous bands have produced songs people relate to and like. Famous chefs have left their guests satisfied and wanting more. Famous parents have grandchildren trained well by their own parents. Famous authors have created books that are better than any movie screen can portray. Famous former leaders influence our present world. Famous…well you see the point. Just go live life with excellence, touching lives, and soon you will be famous—in someone’s book.
What significant actions are you doing today that will make you famous?
When you choose to look past the horizon… the sky is the limit?
