Leadership and communication skills

On a “wing and a prayer” might depict the last ditch effort, or, a slim chance of hope, but prayer is much more promising. Today is the National Day of Prayer.  I am not sure what wing you are focused on or who will be doing the praying today, but it is the phrase that came to mind as I sat to write.

Some think America is over and its light nearly faded. Ruin is around us and nothing seems certain. We have passed bills we don’t read; slaughtered 55 million of our young; disdained our Froe Father’s foundation and tried to remove any trace of faith in God from our public policy and our public halls. We have persisted to go our own way, believing in ourselves, but angry with God who we don’t care to even know. We fight for our rights and tolerate everything and everyone, except for God’s ways, faith and His truths.  Can our prayers turn it around?

Today is not about who is right wing or left wing, but it is about prayer. On the wings of eagles we celebrate our freedoms, and rejoice to “dwell under the Shadow of the Almighty.” Psalms 91

The importance of communication is significant, especially when talking to the One who created the world with His own Words. Life is about conversations and prayer is no different.  Prayer is the conversation of faith and good leadership communication skills always involve listening. Isn’t it time we listened to His strategies for peace and ask for His sound counsel and wisdom? After all, he said, “nothing shall be impossible with Him” and “He is near to all who call.” Today, we stop to “call.”

Lord, heal our land and extend your mercy and grace. Open our eyes to see and lead us in paths of righteousness. Prosper our souls and place our boundaries in pleasant places. Redeem, restore and renew all that has been lost and show us true power—yours.

Cause our enemies to be at peace with us and save us from ourselves.

Revive us. Renew us. Restore us. Redeem us. Redefine us. Reform us.  Repair us. And, reveal Yourself to us. We believe your promises “if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

In God we will trust.
