Is overcoming adversity important?
Once JFK was asked when he decided to become a war hero. He replied, “When they sunk my boat.”
Sink or swim is still the decision of all of us when faced with unplanned events and outcomes. Often, help to overcome disappointment means looking at the life of others. I never expected to be a “blind” woman who would be known as a visionary. Nick Vujicic never expected to have people stand on their feet and applaud his outlook on life, when he does not even have any hands or arms or a leg to stand on. Joni Eareckson Tada never expected to run circles around everyone else in her global work helping others, after a lifetime in a wheelchair as a quadriplegic. Beethoven was never expected to write his famous symphony when deaf.
Some think that when they have all their ducks in a row and life is perfect then they can proceed with life and it’s dreams. Speaking of ducks…Based on one of the most watched television series, A red neck family took their ducks and made a dynasty and for sure their lives don’t seem polished. What could be holding you back? Life is evolving and so are the results of deciding to take your present situation and maximize it, finding the value at every turn in the road.
What about you? What have you decided to do with your own life and it’s fallups and incomplete state? I cannot imagine a butterfly, in the middle of the cocoon, deciding to quit and get out of his tight place. It not only would be immediate death, but the struggle as the cocoon opens in due time is essential for wings of strength as it prepares to take flight in all of it’s beauty. Overcoming adversity actually builds strength for it’s future.
The same with our mishaps and mistakes if you decide to embrace the process.
Most focus only on what they have lost instead of what they still have in their possession
What will you decide to do with your life? What will you decide to do with your failures? What will be the deciding point for going to the next level?
Choose wisely.
