| Here’s the background story. I sent the following email to our mailing list the day before the event…Subject: A Special Divine AssignmentSunday I heard Dr. Jack Graham speak. His opening remarks confirmed my divine assignment this week. He talked about the Judges of Israel and said a line that caught my attention and captured my heart. “Thirteen men and Deborah.”
It is a Deborah moment for me as I leave in a few hours to speak in Des Moines, Iowa. The event is called, “American Renewal Project.” The audience will consist of invited guests, primarily pastors of this state, congressman, key leaders and special guests. I am scheduled to speak on “Vision” and tell our story. I am also scheduled between Rand Paul and Ted Cruse. Could it be a collision of two stories of old? Deborah and Esther—”for such a time as this?” The event, though political in appearance, is rooted in a spiritual awakening. The hopes are to spill over into the political arena. The creator of the event is the man who was behind Governor Perry’s prayer focus a few years ago in Houston at Reliant Stadium called, “the Response.” I am honored to be the first woman asked to speak for this event. Please pray for me to be anointed, articulate and effective. Years ago I asked the Lord, like Mary, “be it unto me according to Your Word.” It looks like He is answering my prayers. Thank you for praying for the efforts to awaken America to its Christian heritage. This is a strategic event and timely as we pray for our land and leadership.
