When we moved to Dallas in 2000 I was excited to finally be living in a city where even a blind woman could get a license! Have you seen the drivers here? I think they cannot see clearly either.

Eyesight might be essential for driving but vision is what will drive you. Nothing is impossible. I was just speaking in Ohio where an eye doctor was in attendance. She was most intrigued by what I could and could not see. After her questions to me I posed one to her.

“What is your visual acuity?” to which she said, “20/20”. “No. I asked what your visual acuity is.” I wonder who tests for that these days.

What is yours?

I will be the first to admit that there are times when I long to see like everyone else then I rethink that position. Why would I want to have the same view as the crowd?  Little ones can only see at knee level until their loving parents placed them on their shoulders. Look around there is someone walking taller than you in your field of design who may offer their shoulders to you to help you see further down the road. Isn’t Mr. Ziglar’s famous mandate to “see you at the top”, inspiring because of the view? If you are not careful the climb may deter you from reaching the top because you only see the rugged terrain and uncertainties. Try to imagine what lies beyond what you can see with your natural eye and begin your journey. Look for others to help make the climb too. And for goodness sakes, when you arrive at the top, gratefully look at all that has been given to you in order to now seize the view.

After you have caught your breath and refocused your sights, keep reaching for there is more!
