I am often asked, “Gail, what do you see?” This of course is a sensible question since losing my eyesight gradually giving birth to five miracle children.

I often tell people they look ten pounds lighter and their hair looks awesome and the clothes they are wearing the coolest. Usually, it is met with laughter but appreciated since everyone loves to be complimented.

Today, I wanted to take a moment and ask you, “What do you see?”

You may answer, the markets look out of control and the gas prices soaring.

You may nervously wonder how your income will exceed the high growing prices of food, fuel and living. What you see may possibly discourage you from that summer fun and travel plans or question your choices of houses and cars. The mounting wars and world calamity and uncertain political outcomes could leave you cross eyed with confusion and fear.

I challenge you today to not let your physical eyesight skew the truth. The Lord your God is with you. The dark place where you seem to be living is not abandonment but under the shadow of His wing. His mercies meet you with each new sunrise and His love never failing. Promotion comes from His hand alone and His favor surrounds you like a shield. He is for you and not against you and His abundance is not based on earthly resources. He has given His angels to be encamped around you and His name alone is like a strong tower in which to take refuge.

The prophet of old inquired of the Lord to show his nervous servant that there were more with them than against them. Though the enemies surrounded them the servants eyes were opened to see the chariots of fire that surrounded them on the mountain ridges. Be encouraged today to know that those chariots have not been disassembled! He is more than enough.

Recently I was reminded that God’s favorite number is zero. It is in the places of lack that He shows His abundance. It is His favor that surprises His children with blessings beyond our imagination. It is His strategies and wisdom that find answers for those who are diligent to seek Him. He is the same yesterday, today and forever

Be encouraged today that what you are seeing may be limited. Rejoice in a Savior who is limitless.  Today, use Matthew 7:7 as your eye chart.  “Ask for there is something yet to be given. Seek  for there is something yet to be found.”

Keep knocking for there are doors yet to be opened to you.

When you choose to look past the horizon… the sky is the limit!
