how to overcome adversity

Thanks Mom and Dad for getting married 58 years ago. You offered me life and it has been incredible. My birth certificate confirms I am legit and my fingerprints are connected to your DNA. Your faith is mine and your drive for purpose and serving others is my focus too. I love people because of you. Your training, teaching, and model of living with excellence is a legacy that I hope will be passed to generations yet to come.

Do you know what I like most? I like seeing your relationship deepen over the years. You both have worked together on life projects and shared the same vision, but now it seems sweeter in some ways. You both love to share meals and your dates are half price. You love to talk about the scriptures as you study together and write books. Your interest is others and so many are interested in you too. They look for your friendly hugs, greetings and amazing love. You both are kind and selfless. You prefer others above yourself and everyone feels treasured by you. You are fun.

The course of your life together has had many winds, storms and changes but each step ordered by the Lord. You have asked for His plan and He has given His best. Your leadership roles have developed other leaders. Your hospitable ways have given people rest and refreshment. Your love for music and the arts has made you diverse. Your sharp wit and vast knowledge of many things makes you a wealth of resources.

Your ability to still learn is amazing. No obstacles or challenges have prevented you from laughing. You have stayed determined to conqueror and obey. You are still stylish and you make a handsome couple. Your ability to discern situations and observe hearts makes you prime candidates for wise counsel. You do not have enemies and your love far exceeds differences with each other and others.

You both have helped each other through some life threatening times. Dad your road back from major emergency heart surgery and Mom, your car-jacking and broken back is triumphant and amazing. You have always been there for each other and for so many. You have shown us His grace and hope when wondering how to overcome adversity. You are loyal and steadfast.

Life Coach-My Mom

Your generosity has made you wealthy beyond this world. Your vision is keen even in the years of diminishing eyesight. Your ear is attentive to His call. Your hearts are knitted together and connected to His. Your walk is brisk with determination, though slowed by time. Your hands still extended to others and lifted in praise to your God.
Thanks for saying “I do” –to more than just a companion in life, but a lifetime of sacred vows established in love that have impacted your world.

Happy 58th anniversary!
