Dressed in Navy

July 3rd, 2012|

Anchors away… My eyes filled with tears while the orchestra played and the choir performed the most rousing musical salute to all who had served in the armed forces. As each theme song was played for the specific military branch, my 78-year-old father, who is a United States Navy Veteran,  stood to be honored […]

Troops and Hope

July 2nd, 2012|

When I was a little girl I hated to go to bed at night. My parents would eventually win the tug of war and off I would go to my room withtwo adult bodyguards close to my side — my parents. After my lights were turned off and the door closed I would jump […]

McRecording in the Dark

June 28th, 2012|

Care to know my behind the scenes secrets for recording my new daily radio features being released around the nation? You may forget, like most, that I do not use any notes or scripts, nor can I even see the clock! Hitting the time mark each show is a bit of a challenge—only because […]

Ask: Part II

June 26th, 2012|

I am intrigued with the word “ask”. Recently, encouragement came as I pondered this powerful three-letter word from the scriptures of old. Its relevancy may help you today as you go about your business. It is a perfect acrostic. It says, “Ask and it shall be given to you. Seek and you shall find. Knock […]

Ask: Part I

June 25th, 2012|

Is it hard for you to ask for something? Typically, men are known for not asking for directions because they like to figure them out by themselves. Women often ask, “How do I look?” in hope of affirming their value. Children, on the other hand, boldly and persistently ask for everything because they see […]

Purpose

June 6th, 2012|

The other day I was asked by our awesome marketing agency we work with called, Infinity Concepts, “Why do you exist?” Great question for all of us! However, my questions had to do with further development of my DNA and, more specifically, my purpose statement. Have you ever considered yours? Why do you exist anyway?

Some […]

Stuck?

June 6th, 2012|

Living in a big city, I love the express lanes. While some are bumper to bumper in traffic, the express lanes give you access to top speeds and easier travel time. Sometimes I have waved at those stuck in traffic feeling sorry for their delays and frustrations as we pass them smiling.

So it can […]

Seeing Beyond

June 6th, 2012|

I have heard it said that eyes that look are normal, but eyes that see are rare. However, I have found that eyes that see beyond are essential. Everyone has something to see beyond. Perhaps it is a closed door or a challenge that seems crippling, which blocks your view of life’s best. Some fail to search for a creative way to look past any interference because they have convinced themselves that they cannot see their way out of impossibilities.  We live in a visual world often losing hope when we cannot see the answer to our dilemmas.

Vision

June 6th, 2012|

Vision requires you to listen. Are you listening to those around you who may have a need you can fill or even have an answer you are searching to find? Have you only been looking at your own needs and abilities?

Vision requires you to trust others who see things you cannot. Do you consider the views of others, helping you see beyond your blind spots?

The New Oprah

June 6th, 2012|

Several months ago some tests indicated that my heart had an eight hour period where it beat irregularly. I was notified and told that I must do an echocardiogram to insure the lower chamber of my heart was good and the blood flow not impeded.
